Lazada has launched LazPitch, the first Undergraduate competition inviting young talents to develop and shape the future of the eCommerce industry.

According to Southeast Asia’s leading eCommerce platform, LazPitch offers the next generation of eCommerce talents in Singapore the rare opportunity to conceptualise an eCommerce campaign and strategy, with three teams winning cash prizes.

In the competition,  the team placed first will bag S$8,000 in prize and internships at Lazada to fast-track their eCommerce careers. Winning teams will also see their plans executed, culminating in a nationwide roll-out in Singapore, the company said in a statement.

Through this talent contest, Lazada said that it aimed to inspire the eCommerce leaders of tomorrow to shape the shopping experience for future consumers.

“As the eCommerce leader in Southeast Asia, Lazada is always on the hunt for ambitious, creative talents who share our passion for online retail, and as the future of online retail, we want to tap into the knowledge and ideas of the young. By focusing talent development on the youths, we want to nurture blooming talent and advance the industry, by tapping on their ideas to help us redefine what the online shopping experience looks like for millions of consumers and sellers, and pave the way for the future of commerce,” said James Chang, CEO of Lazada Singapore. 

Lazada said it was looking forward to seeing the creative submissions from Singapore’s next generation of eCommerce talent and our future team members.

According to the e-commerce company, the top 10 entries will be presented to a judging panel, where it will be shortlisted to the final five. The teams will then undergo a workshop on how to successfully rollout their campaign across Lazada’s website, app and digital channels in Singapore, equipping them with invaluable knowledge and skills to help them embark on their future careers in the industry.

The LazPitch competition is open from now until 15th August 2021 to groups of four  Undergraduates aged under 25 and from the same Singapore Universities from all subject disciplines. According to Lazada’s statement, interested teams should visit the Lazada website to find out more and register, following which they will receive a brief from Lazada along with details of submission.
